Man, when I go around reblogging it’s hard to find things that are like actually detectives doing detective things… Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places.
Maybe I should make my own things… but that would take time and anyways tumblrs mostly about reblogging right?

Finnish reading public was familiar with detective stories in the form of translations from the 1880s onwards. The first Finnish language-written detective stories appeared in 1910, when Richard (Rikhard) Hornanlinna (Rudolf Richard Ruth) published two collections, Kellon salaisuus (The Secret of the Clock) and Lahella kuolemaa (Close to Death)
“Richard Hornanlinna was an interesting character who did work for a time as a private detective but also served jail time for blackmail.
These two collections featured a gentleman-amateur sleuth, Max Rudolf, who has a Holmsian flair for disguises and deduction. In 1920 he published Musta tohtori (The Black Doctor) in which a lawyer is the hero and the story is a mixture of horror and romance in the manner of Poe”.sources: Dekkarihylly/blogspot.com

My favorite scene in two quotes:
Always has the ladies right were he wants them this man. Barging in her room. Like “It’s ok I thought you might have been dead, so I didn’t knock.”
